Is D.O. Leaving EXO?
The news has been confirmed by D.O., that he is not leaving EXO band he sure is leaving SM Entertainment. Apart from the official statement, sources detail that D.O. after 13 years of connection with SM Entertainment refused to renew his contract. However, detailed meetings bore fruit and D.O. decided to continue working with EXO band and being a part of the band activities. Nonetheless, he would continue his acting and solo career under his own company’s name. You know what? The surprising part of this is that one of SM Entertainment’s former managers. Ironic indeed!

Are Sehun And Chanyeol Leaving Too?
Yeah Yeah, we also heard the speculation about Sehun and Chanyeol leaving EXO and SM Entertainment and had to dig deep to find some important information. The news is nothing but absurd! Sehun and Chanyeol are not going anywhere, in fact, their contracts aren’t expiring as well. Their strings are still attached to the agency so there is no chance of leaving EXO for now.

What Happened To EXO K And EXO M?
EXO K and EXO M made their debut in 2012 under the flag of SM Entertainment. There were a total of 12 members recruited for the EXO band and they were divided into two teams – EXO K and EXO M. They were the ones who owned the Exoplanet and made the fans go crazy with their performances. The plan of SM Entertainment was massive and creative of course. They created EXO K for Korean songs and made them focus on winning Korea as their fans (initially). The group included Suho, D.O., Chanyeol, Baekhyun, Kai, and Sehun. On the other hand, EXO M was to focus on China and Mandarin audience so that the roots of Kpop could spread there too. For this, EXO M had Kris, Luhan, Lay, and Tao (Chinese members) and Xiumin and Chen (Korean members).
Both the bands did wonders and were accomplishing their responsibilities well. It was a long shot for SM Entertainment but it turned out to be a huge success. But unfortunately, between 2014 and 2016, Kris, Luhan, and Tao left the group because of some issues with the agency and their contracts. With that, the concept of EXO Mandarin came to a pause, and instead of restarting with new faces, SM Entertainment broke the news of combining the group.

A New Era With EXO-CBX And EXO-SC
In 2016, a new strategy was picked up as SM Entertainment announced two new groups – EXO-CBX and EXO-SC. EXO-CBX had Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin hence the first letters of their names made the acronym CBX. As a trio band, “Hey Mama!” was their first song and it turned out to be a huge success. Along with them, EXO-SC made their way into hip-hop funky music with the voices of Chanyeol and Sehun and the song “What a Life.”
Unfortunately, then came a time when the boys had to enroll in the military. Before that, members of both groups tried their best to leave an impact on the Kpop world. Plus, they established their solo careers too before enlisting which was an amazing strategy by the company. This news is going to shock you to the core but, SM Entertainment hasn’t brought forward the EXO band for the details of 2024. All other bands like aespa, Red Velvet, NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV, and RIIZE are there but not EXO. Some speculation claim that 2024 is going to be a busy year for EXO but it doesn’t seem so in the schedule. However, Suho in a recent interview claimed that the members would get back together for their new album although Kai and Sehun would be enlisting in the military too (date unknown). Let’s see what happens. If the contract renewals have taken place then there should be a separate roaster for the official activities of EXO for 2024.
